Nigel is from Donaghmore, a small village in Co. Laois. He has lived in Houston since he moved to the United States to participate in a six month Irish Government-sponsored Internship Program in 2008. Nigel graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Physics in 2008 and a Physics Doctorate in 2012 from Dublin City University.

 

Nigel's current work focus is on technical consulting, business digitalization, and industry 4.0 projects. Nigel is the current president of the Houston chapter of Irish Network USA.

 

When he gets the chance, Nigel likes to travel and explore the US by going on road-trips taking in many of the amazing sites and National Parks along the way.

Bernie is an Associate Director in the Market Operations Department of Macquarie Group, the Australian Investment Bank, where he manages the Houston Onboarding and AML team.

 

He joined the organization in Sydney in 2011 and has since worked in London before moving to Houston in early 2013. He graduated from University College Dublin with a Degree in Business and Legal studies and a Masters in Commercial Law.

 

Prior to emigrating he completed his traineeship to qualify as a Solicitor in Dublin and is also qualified in England and Wales.

 

He organizes a running group every Monday at the Pimlico Irish pub and enjoys telling Texans about how his native Tullamore experienced the first air disaster in history in 1785 when a hot air balloon burnt down the town.

Rory moved to Houston in late 2017 with his wife and has completely immersed himself in Houston society. He is a Residential Mortgage Banker and a Player-Coach with Houston Athletic Rugby Club here in the city. 

As well as being part of the IN-Houston board, he and his wife are involved in French society 'Houston Acceuil'. 

Previously to moving to H-Town, Rory studied International Business and French in Trinity College Dublin and later worked in Digital Marketing in Dublin City. 

Always available for chat, but be aware that if you say you've any sort of athletic ability, he'll probably try and recruit you for the rugby team!

Karen Dow

Karen Dow is a native Dubliner who is passionate about Ireland. She has gained extensive experience in the Airline, Travel, Tourism, Events and Human Resource Technology Industries. She has travelled across the Globe and enjoys the experience of meeting other people and cultures.

She is currently an Account Manager at Kahuna Workforce Solutions who have developed a Competency Management System. Prior to this she worked as Manager, Membership with the Greater Houston Partnership  where she forged relationships across the Houston business community.

Karen was responsible for the ‘greening’ of City Hall, Houston on St Patrick’s Day as part of the Tourism Ireland ‘Global Greening Campaign’.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and a Diploma in Public Relations. In her spare time, she enjoys Salsa Dancing, Golf, travelling and exploring Houston. Karen is also Events Manager for the Liverpool Football Club Supporters Group, in support of her husband Roger, the Chairman, where she co-ordinates the visits to Houston of famous ex-soccer legends.

Chris Bohill

Chris is a Consulting at 8over8, an Irish software company focused on Contract Performance Management solutions for the Energy industry. He has been with the company since mid-2015 but moved to Houston in 2005 to establish an office for another N.Irish O&G software company.

 

With their head office in Derry, Chris returns to Ireland on a regular basis where he likes to complain about the lack of sun and the price of a pint of Guinness while getting harassed for using words like “Y’all”, “trash” and “trunk".

 

Chris is married to local girl Megan and lives in Woodland Heights. He is an active committee member and player with the Houston Gaels Gaelic Athletic Club and is a long suffering Liverpool FC fan with way too many friends who support Man Utd. He grew up on a dairy farm just outside Downpatrick, Co.Down.

Aine Riederer

Hailing from County Clare, Aine has have over 20 years of a proven track record of success in the delivery of International Projects in
many different sectors across the globe, Aine has an extensive background and experience working as a
Business Development Executive, Project Coordinator and as a Global Organisation Change Practitioner in
large Multinational companies.
Having moved across four different Continents with her husband and family over the last 10 years, Aine has
adapted into different roles and projects along the way.
She is now residing and working in The Woodlands, Texas as a Relocation Specialist - Real Estate Agent with
Berkshire Hathaway Anderson Properties, Aine feels from her own personal experiences and perspectives she
has a lot to offer the IN In Houston with her excellent Networking,organisational skills and proven
leadership skills.
